Gwillimbury Hills Montessori Daycare

At Gwillimbury Hills, our programs follow the Montessori philosophy supporting each child’s natural curiosity, independence, and development through hands-on learning.

  • Toddler Program (18 months – 2.5 years)

At Gwillimbury Hills, our energetic and caring teachers encourage and gently guide each toddler through this important exploratory and discovery stage. knowledgeable educators provide a program that meets each child’s needs during this formative period of development.

Your child will be exposed to a quiet playing and reading area. In this area, your child can choose to participate independently in a range of logic games and puzzles, and many more stimulating activities that allow them to develop. To an adult their “work” might look like play, but to a Toddler, it is an extraordinary learning period requiring all of their concentration. The classroom environment is designed to allow them to build trust and to instill a love of learning. Learning self-help skills is an important part of the toddler curriculum. Toddlers step into a loving, warm space where everything, from the furniture to the sensory materials- has been created with their rapid growth in mind. A very small teacher-student ratio of 1:5 ensures that each child is given the care he or she needs.
